The Venue & the View

The Keppel Bay Sailing Club is located on the beachfront in Anzac Parade Yeppoon.  The recently renovated Clubhouse is one of the premier function venues on the Capricorn Coast.  The air conditioned Commodore Room is ideal for wedding receptions with its fabulous sea views, friendly efficient staff and ability to comfortably seat up to 120 guests. Downstairs at the Clubhouse we have the Bilge Bar, a less formal area capable of accommodating approximately 40 seated guests and up to 80 people cocktail style.  The Bilge Bar has the added benefit of opening out onto a beachfront promenade which is set with outdoor tables and chairs.  This area is very private, overlooking the sand and the sea.

The Meal

Gordon Stratfield, the Club’s Head Chef, has compiled a series of function menus to assist you with your wedding reception plans.  If you would like to discuss other menu options, please contact Julie Courtney on 07 49399540.

The Drinks

The Clubhouse has four well-equipped bars with a wide selection of beers, spirits, wines and soft drinks.  A bar account can be established where a selection of beverages are made available to your guests within a predetermined monetary limit.  Sparkling Wine can be served to your guests for the formalities of the evening.  An extensive range of reasonably priced Sparkling Wine is available.  The Club is permitted to trade until 12 midnight, if the level of patronage is sufficient

The Equipment, Decorations & Entertainment

The Club is able to source white linen tablecloths, napkin colour of your choice, microphone and a selection of plants. Because table and other decorations are a matter of personal taste, the Club leaves these more intimate details for you to decide.  We are only too happy to assist with any decoration ideas you may have.  You are also welcome to organise private entertainment for your guests.  We have the facility to pipe music into our function rooms through various means.

The Charges

There is a $550.00 room hire fee for our Commodore Room and $440 for the Bilge Bar. This fee covers exclusive use of function room, arrangement of furniture, cleaning expenses, administration costs, use of equipment, basic linen and liquor licensing requirements. The table skirting and the chair covers are optional extras and incur a fee, depending on numbers. The Club also requires a $200.00 booking and security deposit, which is deducted from the final account.

The Personal Assistance and Quality Service

The management and staff of the Keppel Bay Sailing Club pride themselves in the personal attention and quality service provided to their function clients.  Julie Courtney, the Club’s Function Coordinator, endeavours to provide the Bride and Groom with assistance, advice, attention to detail and fulfillment of any special requests.  During the Reception, the service staff strive to provide all wedding guests with service of the highest standard.
