The Keppel Bay Sailing Club is always honoured to host State, National and International Regattas and has proved its ability to host events of this magnitude on many occasions. The Club, which is located in Yeppoon on the Tropic of Capricorn, is committed to the promotion and development of the sport of sailing.
The Keppel Bay Sailing Clubs race management team is well trained, highly qualified and very experienced. This team is comprised of over fifty volunteers, who have officiated at numerous state, national and international events. Thirty of these volunteers have completed the State Race Management Course and have experience in being on a jury at either state or national level. As a result, Club management is happy to supply a Protest Committee for regattas, as requested.
The Keppel Bay Sailing Club is able to offer a sailing location in relatively sheltered waters, as the area is protected by the picturesque Keppel Islands. The racing area is unlimited, within a short sail from the beach and in full view of The Clubhouse. The Club is able to support the efficient operation of three or more independent courses, simultaneously.
The Keppel Bay Sailing Club has two fully equipped hydrofield rescue craft and three rigid inflatable craft for immediate rescue work. To compliment these craft, the Club is also able to charter a number of larger committee boats, as necessary. As stated above, the Club has numerous, qualified race officers to operate the rescue and committee boats.
Most of the racing area is in full view of The Clubhouse with racing being monitored from the shore by radio communication to all rescue and committee boats. The Club is also equipped with an international standard, observation tower. This area is used by race officials to accurately record race results and ensure competitor safety.
The Club also has a large first aid kit, which is serviced by St Johns Ambulance on a regular basis, as well as suitable and sufficient signal flags, buoys and a sound signal to operate international standard regattas. It should be noted that the Club prides itself on its excellent safety record.

The Keppel Bay Sailing Club is equipped with very good catering facilities and is able to offer competitors and their supporters economical lunches on a daily basis. Fast, light lunches can be served including -
Function menus range from BBQs to Banquets and Buffet Dinners. Approximately, 100 guests can be served in the Bilge Bar for an informal social function. Other dining options are available one of the Clubs dining outlets.
The Keppel Bay Sailing Clubs race management team has vast experience in producing and supplying regatta documentation, including notices of race, sailing instructions, sign on / off sheets, protest forms, mark rounding sheets and finish sheets.
Approximately eight motels / holiday units are located within walking distance of the Keppel Bay Sailing Club with many more scattered along the Coast. Accommodation styles and prices range from budget family accommodation to international resorts. Yeppoon is located on the Capricorn Coast approximately 40 kilometres north east of Rockhampton. It is easily accessible by road, rail and air. Rockhampton is located on the Bruce Highway and has a domestic airport, which is serviced by both Jetstar and Virgin. It also has a well established railway station. Hire cars and a local bus service are available to transport visitors to the Capricorn Coast, who have arrived by air or rail.
The Coast boasts many unique tourist attractions, beautiful beaches and quality facilities. The central business district is only a short walk from the Club and has two large shopping centres (offering Coles, Woolworths & Big W) and many speciality shops.
